New Human Centric Lighting Products Released by Healthe and Dyson

With awareness of the impacts of lighting on people’s physical and psychological well-being, luminaire makers have increased their product portfolio based on human centric lighting to meet the increasing demands of the market. Circadian lighting solution expert Healthe and home technology manufacturer Dyson have launched new lighting products with changing spectra that mimic natural light.

Healthe introduced SunTrac A19, a product that combines engineered spectrums that have been optimized for both daytime and nighttime use into a circadian lamp. The lamp combines Healthe’s energy-enhancing GoodDay spectrum for daytime usage and sleep-promoting Goodnight spectrums at nighttime.

With three lighting modes, GoodDay, Afternoon and GoodNight, the SunTrac A19 mimics sunlight throughout the day, enhancing the wake-sleep cycle for improved health and well-being. Alternatively, users can take advantage of customizable settings to create the circadian cycle that is best for them and their daily schedule.

British household appliance producer Dyson introduced a new LED lamp, LightCycle, which automatically changes color temperature and brightness to mimic natural light of local environment. Via connection with a smartphone, the LED lamp can detect local time and season and adjust the light accordingly with its algorithm on a built-in chip. The lamp also modifies its brightness according to the age of users. Dyson noted that human’s eye muscles become weaker and lenses get harder as they grow older so elderly users require brighter light compared to the youth.
