Key Technologies and Advanced Applications of Micro LED Technology at Micro LEDforum 2019

Micro LED technology is on its way of business transforming! Since last year, we have seen different Micro LED display products in various trade shows from worldwide companies. Although Micro LED technology is still fraught with myriad challenges, it has become much more developed than it was two years ago. Schedules for the commercialization of Micro LEDs will unfold as the technology matures, predicted to bring Micro LED market revenue up to US$4.2 billion by 2023.

This year, LEDinside Micro LEDforum 2019 has invited professionals across the world to share with us their penetrating analyses of key technological bottlenecks in Micro LEDs. Industry experts from Rohinni, Toray, PARC, Plessey, Konica Minolta, Macroblock and Ultray Display, as well as technology specialists from ITRI and Kyung Hee University will present solutions targeting different difficulties. There will also be in-depth discussions on mid- and small-sized Micro LED display solutions, large-sized Micro LED display module solutions and their respective applications.

Targeting mass transfer barriers, Rohinni will introduce its technology solution to commercialized Micro LED and Mini LED technology. The startup focuses on mass transfer solutions and develops mass transfer equipment in collaboration with equipment manufacturers, and may have a chance to release Mini LED backlights for keyboards or in other special shapes for indicator applications.

PARC will also present its own pioneering Micro LED transfer technology: The Micro Assembler, which allows faster production and may be used to place millions of Micro LEDs onto the system for transfer. With the method, Micro LED dies become the ‘ink’ input for the Micro Assembler system, which transport, sort, orient and assemble Micro LEDs into a custom pattern in rapid and precise fashion.

Plessey, who won the CES 2019 Innovation Award with its Micro LED AR smart glasses, is also joining Micro LEDforum 2019 to introduce its monolithic Micro LED with GaN-on-Si technology. The company will explain why the approach is suitable for AR/MR display applications and analyze the challenges for Micro display.

Together with industry professionals, LEDinside will offer a comprehensive analysis of Micro LED manufacturing, system integration to end applications at Micro LEDforum 2019. Join us on July 2nd at NTUH International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan.
