ThundeRobot Unveils Mini LED Notebook Priced at RMB18,999

The 2021 China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy) was held between July 30 and August 2 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. During the event, ThundeRobot partnered with AMD and BOE (its monitor supplier) to unveil its next-gen flagship gaming notebook: the ZERO.

Reportedly, the ZERO with AMD RyzenTM represents a new breakthrough because of its ultra-high-resolution display. The top-specs model comes with a 15.6-inch Mini LED monitor. The monitor—comprising 10,000+ LEDs and 1,152 dimming zones—boasts 4K ultra-HD resolution, a 1-million-to-1 contrast ratio, 500 nits of brightness, and cinema-level gamut. Priced at RMB18,999 (US$2,940), the ZERO’s monitor is burn-in-free and ghosting-free.

The ZERO is engineered with AMD’s processor RyzenTM 7 5800H and features 16GB RAM, 512GB of solid-state drive storage, and a Wi-Fi 6 card. Specs like these are more than enough to fulfill a gamer’s needs for high-performance gaming experiences.

Notably, several computer manufacturers have also launched their Mini LED notebooks.

For example, MSI unveiled the 17-inch Creator 17, the first-ever Mini LED notebook, in January 2020. In June this year, the company released the second Mini LED model, MSI WS76, with 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch options.

In May this year, Acer announced its first Mini LED notebook that comes with a 165Hz Mini LED display.

Additionally, Apple will unveil MacBook Pro products featuring Mini LED monitors in September–November. As giant tech companies start to use Mini LED screens, the Mini LED backlight market will further expand.
