After six inspiring days at the trade fair, LEDVANCE, one of the world’s leading providers of general lighting, is drawing a positive conclusion from Light + Building 2026. In Frankfurt, the company presented its most elaborate booth to date, spanning almost 700 square metres, and positioned itself as one of the dynamic leaders in the lighting industry. An immersive staging marked LEDVANCE’s 10th anniversary and underlined its transformation from luminaire manufacturer to a holistic project partner.
Intelligent lighting control through AI integration
At the heart of the stand, the “Innovation Wall” attracted particular attention. Here, LEDVANCE demonstrated its product innovations and showed how modern lighting solutions can actively respond to their surroundings through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). One technological highlight was the new Floodlight Camera Sensor with integrated AI: it can accurately distinguish between people, animals and various objects such as vehicles, enabling individually configurable lighting control based on these detections. Responses such as dimming or alarm functions, for example in the presence of unauthorised persons, can be set up to meet specific requirements.
Another innovation on display was the AI Table Robot, a gesture-controlled table lamp with two main modes. In “task mode”, it automatically directs the light to where it is needed at any given moment, making work easier. In “emotional mode”, an integrated camera detects moods such as joy or anger and responds with appropriate light, movement and sound. Settings can be controlled easily via touch or app.
Also featured on the Innovation Wall was the new gesture-controlled ceiling light. It can be switched on and off intuitively and dimmed using hand movements. Switching between tunable white (CCT) and RGB colours is also possible via gestures. The control works without an internet connection and is therefore independent of cloud services.
Ulrich Weiss, Head of Product Management & Innovation & Global IT at LEDVANCE, explains: “The Innovation Wall was a central element of our presence at the trade fair. It enabled us to show, very practically, how we translate today’s trends into products and create real added value for end users through AI. We were delighted to see ao many visitors trying the systems on site and to hear their positive feedback on the intuitive operation.”
Visitors also showed strong interest in DIRECT EASY, a new system for particularly fast and easy commissioning of dimmable lighting using an app, with energy-saving potential of up to 80 percent. At a dedicated experience table, visitors were able to test DIRECT EASY solutions live and experience their ease of installation and operation in a realistic setting.
Hands-on experiences across five application areas
The breadth of the professional portfolio was brought to life through five application areas arranged around the brand core at the centre of the stand. In the Office area, the BIOLUX downlight demonstrated the benefits of Human Centric Lighting for modern working environments. The Shop area created an inspiring retail atmosphere with a combination of daylight lighting and tracklights under a cloud-sky look. In the Outdoor area, a simulation featuring asphalt and zebra crossings showcased the performance of the Urban-Flex series for street and pathway lighting under realistic conditions. In the Industry & Logistics segment, visitors could interactively test different lighting controls on special shelving systems. The Sports area put the partnerships with Werder Bremen and Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the spotlight. A large-scale LED wall provided insights into the specific requirements of modern sports lighting. Product highlights included the high-performance stadium floodlights FL Arena-Quattro and Floodlight Arena Duo. A large LED screen featuring case studies from the various fields of application underscored the company’s project expertise.
Maximum flexibility through tailored services
Another key pillar of the trade fair presence was positioning LEDVANCE as a capable partner for complex, individual project requirements – going far beyond the delivery of products alone. A live 3D printer produced individually configured damp-proof clips on site, demonstrating the ability to manufacture bespoke components quickly. LEDVANCE also showcased its advanced digital data capabilities: comprehensive product datasets, including digital twins, were available in multiple file formats, enabling seamless integration into professional 3D planning and lighting design workflows.
“We see ourselves as a full-service partner for complex projects,” emphasises Jean-Marc Vogel, Managing Director Western Europe at LEDVANCE. “Our goal is to offer lighting solutions that are precisely tailored to our customers’ individual needs, from the initial planning phase through to technical implementation on site.”
