Lighting Japan Marks a Success in 2016

As stated by Yuhi Maezono, show director of Reed Exhibitions Japan, Lighting device and technology plays a big part in our life as they are used everywhere such as homes, offices, shops and other indoor/outdoor facilities. Today we also see that LED/OLED are being used more as solutions in the automotive industry, plant factories etc.  

LIGHTING JAPAN has well- established its presence as an exhibition that provides the latest technology and products to cover all these needs. Exhibitors gather from all over the world, which attracts many visitors to the show to see lighting products and technology. 

From the next edition “Int’l Lighting Fixture Expo” will be reborn as “JAPAN LIGHTING EXPO” which will be held October, 2016. The show will be a part of Japan’s first show for building & urban development industries - Int’l Building & Urban Development Expo. Light-Tech Expo will continue to be held in January together with powerful concurrent shows, NEPCON JAPAN (Electronics), AUTOMOTIVE WORLD (Automotive), WEARABLE EXPO (Wearable device) and RoboDEX (robotics). 

LIGHTING JAPAN consisted of two specialised shows, Light-Tech Expo and Int’l Lighting Fixture Expo. Light-Tech Expo is an exhibition where all kinds of technologies for LED/OLED development and application gather. LED/OLED is now getting applied to various sectors. Components for LED Packaging, components for OLED, Power Supply & IC, Processing Technology, Simulation/ Inspection/ Measurement/Test/Evaluation Equipment exhibited.  

At Int’l Lighting Fixture Expo, all kinds of lighting fixtures gather. We had exhibitors from Indoor/Outdoor LED/OLED Lighting, Lighting Control System and other lightings. We saw many lighting fixtures for energy-saving as well as smart lighting (IT technology and sensors etc.) 

Both exhibitions gathered various visitors and we saw many business meetings being held inside exhibitors’ booth.

Next to the exhibition halls, 60 speeches were delivered by industry leaders. The topics covered all lighting issues such as the latest lighting technology, lighting control, advanced automotive lighting, Including concurrent shows, 19,137 visitors attended the conference during the three show periods. Out of all the seminars held for LIGHTING JAPAN, the keynote session attracted the most attention. Nobel laureate, Mr. Shuji Nakamura and leading lighting manufacturer, OSRAM GmbH Business Unit Digital System CEO, Mr. Geert van der Meer gave their thoughts on how new technology changes lightings. New markets for LED to lighting design for hotels and educational facilities, lighting design in urban development and projection mapping.

Starting this October, a part of LIGHTING JAPAN- Int’l Lighting Fixture Expo- will be reborn as Japan Lighting Expo, which will be held from Oct. 26 -28, 2016 at PACIFICO Yokohama as a consisting exhibition of Japan’s first show for building & urban development industries - Int’l Building & Urban Development Expo.
