RIDI Lighting is pleased to announce its latest LED downlighter – the first to include its own high output chip set module, which lowers costs by around 30%. The long life rating L80 means that it will still be outputting 80% of its total light after 50,000 hours of use.
“The EDLR range is an affordable and high quality solution, ideal for core areas and general spaces in commercial, retail and educational spaces.” says Mike Attard, Managing Director of RIDI Lighting Ltd. “This downlighter has been cost engineered to take on conventional fluorescent downlighters and comes with our ten year maintenance commitment to spares, significantly reducing the risk of replacements.”
The EDLR is a versatile solution available in three different variants, four different outputs and three diameters: 150mm, 195mm and 235mm. The decorative front flange is easily removed to allow a wide range of decorative accessories and attachments to be fitted. The EDLR W version has a high-reflectance white reflector made of pure aluminium which is powder coated, making it similar to the RAL9016. The EDLR SMT has a matt narrow- beam reflector made of anodised pure aluminium and the EDLR SMB is the same with a wide-beam reflector.
Fitted with a RIDI LED module made at their factory in Germany, the downlighter is high end Ra80 on the colour rendering index with colour temperatures options of 4000K (-840) or 3000K (-830) – a tuneable white light version will be available mid-2014. The LED module is covered by a transparent polycarbonate cap, which has a slightly matt effect, allowing the LED to remain slightly visible while maintaining the full efficiency of the chipset.
