LED In A New “DIM-ension”

LEDVANCE introduces efficient LED lamps with remarkably warm light when dimming, thanks to GlowDim technology.

Color temperature dimming in combination with state-of-the-art LEDs – LEDVANCE  makes it possible. Under the Osram brand, the company now introduces efficient LED lamps with remarkably warm light when dimming, thanks to GlowDim technology.

The lamps of the GlowDim product line contain different LEDs with varying color temperatures, whose light is mixed according to the position of the dimmer. Undimmed, the LED lamps emit a warm white light (2,700 Kelvin). For the desired GlowDim effect, however, infinitely variable dimming allows the lamps to shine in extra warm white (2,00 Kelvin). A further benefit: The color rendering value remains higher than 80 even at the lower color temperature.

With the GlowDim line, LEDVANCEoffers an extensive portfolio of LED lamps for a wide range of applications in both the hotel and gastronomy segments and in the private sector; it thereby ensures the easy replacement of lamps in the most frequent applications and combinations. The range includes a Classic A lamp (E27 base, matt), a Classic B lamp (E14 base, matt), a Classic P model (E14 base, matt) and PAR 16 spots as a 48 watt replacement (GU10 base) and MR 16 spots as a 33 watt replacement (GU5.3 base).

The GlowDim effect

For the first time, there is also a LED filament lamp with GlowDim effect: The light color of the Parathom Retrofit Advanced Classic A55 can be dimmed from 2,700 Kelvin to a remarkably warm 1,700 Kelvin. Comparable to incandescent lamps and halogen lamps in their style and luminous flux, the clear LED filament lamp features a low energy consumption and a high rated lifespan of up to 15,000 hours.

All GlowDim lamps can be used with a range of standard leading edge, trailing edge, universal and even DALI dimmers. A detailed compatibility list can be found at www.ledvance.de/dim.

The switch to the new GlowDim lamps is worth it – in every sense: GlowDim models belong to the energy efficiency class A+ and save up to 90 percent energy compared to comparable incandescent and halogen lamps. And, with a rated lifespan up to 25,000 hours and a warranty up to five years, energy and maintenance costs can also be consistently lowered. In other words: The GlowDim product line from LEDVANCE provides many good reasons for even fans of conventional incandescent and halogen lamps to discover the benefits of LED technology.
