Healthe® by Lighting Science announced the launch of SunLync™, a control device that autonomously synchronizes Healthe wireless-enabled lighting to the sun’s cycle. SunLync contains a GPS locator that captures local time and continuously broadcasts a system-wide mesh command to all Healthe lights within range. Lights respond by generating the appropriate spectrum and intensity, providing the right light at the right time. The frequent time signal generation from SunLync allows for a subtle response and fluid transition between light settings from the luminaires.

Healthe, a spinoff of Lighting Science specialized in biological lighting, offers engineered spectra technology to deliver circadian wellbeing for occupants of the built environment. The GoodDay® spectrum is blue-enriched at 480 nanometers (nm), which is the peak wavelength for the body’s circadian sensitivity. GoodDay simulates the blue in natural sunlight, helps to increase our alertness and has the potential to improve productivity during the day. The GoodNight® spectrum, which is blue-depleted at 480 nm, promotes the body’s natural response to sunset. It enables a better nights’ sleep relative to conventional lighting.
With the new control device, SunLync, the GoodDay and GoodNight spectra can be managed through Bluetooth wireless switches or 0-10V inputs. Users can benefit throughout the day from pre-programmed circadian lighting with Healthe’s dynamic spectrum, wireless solutions.
“The addition of SunLync to the Healthe product portfolio increases the benefits provided by these products because, now, the lighting spectrum will change autonomously depending on location and time of the day” says Gene Daniell, Director of Commercial Productsfor Healthe. “The spectral transitions enabled by SunLync are seamless, so visual comfort is not compromised. We remove the hassle for the user and the resulting lighting is tailored for their circadian rhythm.”
