[News] Al Arabia Out Of Home Brings Advertising Alive on Skybridges with Daktronics LED Displays

News Source:

To bring advertising to life along major roadways in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Daktronics has partnered with Al Arabia Out Of Home, LLC, to manufacture and deliver 10 LED displays on skybridges above roadways. The project was completed late in 2024 to start the new year off with new messages delivered to passersby.

“The LED cabinet design has greatly simplified our installation process. All assemblies are completed at the factory onto a prefabricated structure, which is then transported to the busy roads of Dubai,” said Al Arabia Senior Projects Manager Digital Abdul Rahoof Nalakath. “Using a crane, we simply hook the unit to the bridge parapet after road closure approval. This streamlined method allowed us to complete each screen installation in just two nights, significantly reducing health and safety risks in Dubai’s high-traffic environment and ensuring full compliance with local regulations.

“Additionally, by using the custom cabinet from Daktronics, we achieved the maximum allowable height, as per RTA regulations, while maintaining the required resolution and incorporating a dedicated space for the brand logo, fulfilling Al Arabia’s unique design requirements.”

Display Details
All of the displays in this project feature 10-millimeter pixel spacing to deliver crisp, clear imagery to all advertising messages. Matching the skybridges on which they are installed, there are five different display sizes. Four displays measure 2.4 meters high by 17 meters wide, three measure 2.4 meters high by 28.16 meters wide, one measures 2.4 meters high by 40.46 meters wide, one measures 1.92 meters high by 22.4 meters wide and one measures 1.92 meters high by 16.64 meters wide.

“Delivering these displays directly above roadways in Dubai gives advertisers the greatest opportunity to have their messages seen by passersby and to make the most impact of their advertising investment,” said Ahmad Dahmash, Daktronics regional sales. “These displays are also new Daktronics products in the market and the first of its kind installed on actual road bridges, where they have the highest traffic for wide exposure of messaging. We’re excited to complete this project with Al Arabia Out Of Home!”
