Cypress Semiconductor introduced an automotive LED driver that enables smaller and more cost-effective headlight systems. The new S6BL112A automotive-grade LED driver is the industry’s first to feature synchronous control, which helps it provide industry-leading conversion efficiency, enabling stable performance in a lighting system. The device is able to drive LEDs at a high 2.1-MHz switching frequency, which enables a compact headlight solution that uses small, inexpensive inductors, reducing physical size and bill-of-materials costs. The LED drivers combine with Cypress’s Traveo™ microcontrollers (MCUs) and power management ICs (PMICs) to provide a best-in-class automotive front-lighting solution.

Access Fixtures, is announcing the launch of their new KOTA LED high bay and sports lighter luminaire lineup starting with the release of the100w LED High Bay Light featuring Flip Chip Opto COB LEDs. Employing a patented design that weighs less than 6 pounds, the new 100w high bay luminaire uses a Flip Chip Opto COB that produces 11,056 lumens at only 96.7 watts for 114.4 lumen-per-watt efficiency. Power management company Eaton, a 2016 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year, today announced the expansion of the Lumark Night Falcon™ LED Floodlight Luminaire family. LED lighting manufacturer Evluma has received the IDA (International Dark Sky Association) Fixture Seal of Approval for its 40W and 70W 3000K CCT LED AreaMax street and area lights. IDA's Fixture Seal of Approval program certifies outdoor lighting fixtures as being Dark Sky Friendly, meaning that they minimize glare while reducing light trespass and skyglow. Certification criteria includes a CCT of 3000K or below and a U0 rating, emitting no light above 90 degrees. Street and area light submittals must also identify an optional backlight shield, available for the AreaMax since 2015.

Sony is expanding the capabilities of the BVM-X300 OLED master monitor, giving users more flexibility and more features for HDR and 4K production applications.
