The 12th “HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition)”-LED Component

LED Encapsulated Components

LED package manufacturers comprise of Cree, Nichia, Citizen, Seoul Semiconductor, Everlight, etc. have developed improving products with increasing LED luminous efficacy and colour ren-dering index. Among LED package manufacturers, Citizen lately has launched indoor lighting with 26W and 41W LED, 3000-5000K color temperature, 2800-4390 lm of luminous flux.

Besides, Nichia has demoed the latest product NVSx219A, cool white LED with 140 lm and 133 lm/W and warm white LED with 110 lm and 105lm/W. It is estimated that it will go into mass production in the first quarter of 2011.

In particular, 7W of Cree XM series is received great attention, since luminous efficacy has reached 160lm/W and luminous flux has increased to 750lm. This product is going into mass production in the fourth quarter of this year.

Furthermore, Taiwan manufacturer, Lustrous also launched the Pearl, Dream series of products which were packaged by Epistar HV LED chips. Although luminous efficacy of HV LED chips is not easy to compete with that of traditionally high power LED chips, this series of products can save power consumption from Drive IC.

It is concluded that the luminous efficacy of lighting fixtures is not far than general LED light bulbs. Moreover, it is suitable to be adopted in small lighting fixtures. Lu-strous indicated that it will go to mass production in the fourth quarter of this year.
