TP Halo and Thailand’s Provincial Energy Agency are collaborating on launching new LED T8 tube lights in Thailand, said representatives interviewed at EcolightTech Asia 2015, which ran from Nov. 19-21, 2015 at Queen Sirikit Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

Emerging markets such as Thailand, where government policies are spurring the change to greener light sources hold great business opportunities for LED manufacturers. The country’s mega LED streetlight projects are largely supported by the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and in the form of tradeshows such as EcoLightTech Asia 2014 to encourage businesses to make the upgrade. The country’s high LED growth rates which is projected at a CAGR of 30% in the next five years is attracting many new players, as observed during LEDinside’s recent visit.

The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) of Thailand aims to complete upgrading high sodium pressure streetlights in the country to more energy efficient LEDs within four years, said Director Niwat Chayakul, the organization's Director of Power System and Research Development Department  told LEDinside at EcoLight Asia 2014, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand.

Officials from Thailand’s Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), NCC Exhibition Organizer (NEO) and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) attended the opening ceremony of EcoLight Tech Asia 2014 on Tuesday. The show will run from Nov. 12-14, 2014 at the Queen Sirkit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thailand’s LED lighting market demands have increased since the government heavily promoted energy efficient lighting, while LED luminaire prices have dropped, according to a report by Economic Daily News.
