Crop One, the US-based vertical farm company, announced that it has teamed up with Sino-Science North America Photobiotech (SNAP), a vertical farm technology providers, to jointly develop future vertical farm projects. The 2018 Internationl Micro LED Display Conference has gathered AUO, eLux, Nationstar, Lextar, X-Celeprint, Veeco, Lumiode, San’an, TOPCON, Chipone, PlayNitride, Orbotech, Sony and ITRI to share Micro LED related technologies and future prospect. The conference has mainly focused on Micro LED epitaxy, transfer, color conversion, detection, drive and equipment.

San’an Opto said that the company has engaged in preliminary discussions with Osram upon a potential acquisition or partnership. However, the two parties only met once to discuss related issues so far.

San’an Opto has announced on Dec. 25th that the company has signed the “Cooperation Framework Agreement” on Dec. 24th with Zijin Mining Group and Fujian Anxin Contract Energy Management Co. The company will gain an LED lighting product purchase project of at least RMB 300 million (US $49.5 million) within two years. 

San’an has completed a 30 percent transition from 2 inch to 4 inch sapphire substrate, and strives to reach 70 percent and above by next year, said  the company’s Chairman Secretary Li Xuetan.

San’an has recently released their 3Q13 financial report. The first three quarters of the year saw a revenue of RMB 2.63 billion (US $431 million), a YoY growth of 11.86 percent. Gross profit margin was RMB 761 million, a YoY growth of 14.07 percent. Net profit attributable to company stockholders after deduction of non-recurring profits or loss was RMB 645 million, a substantial YoY growth of 59.95 percent. Earning per share (EPS) was RMB 0.53. Single quarter revenue for 3Q dropped to RMB 957 million, YoY dip of 2.48 percent. 

Rapid LED price drops for LED bulbs have driven up penetration rates, according to the latest CLSA Asia- Pacific Markets report . Chinese LED lighting market penetration rates for 2014 are expected to increase to 15 percent from 3 percent in 2012, according to a recent report by CLSA. Global LED lighting market growth will stimulate LED chip shipments in 2013-2014. CLSA is optimistic that Chinese LED manufacturers will benefit from this trend, listing LED chip manufacturer San’an and lighting manufacturer Yankon as main beneficiaries.

AIXTRON AG today signed a contract with Sanan Optoelectronics Co. Ltd., on the supply of a double digit number of multiple CRIUS® II and AIX G5 MOCVD systems. The AIXTRON new generation MOCVD systems will be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011 and installed at Sanan’s new manufacturing facilities in Wuhu, Anhui, China.
