CHIMEI Announced "Brand 133" Plan to keep the Lead in Taiwan Market

Recently, Taiwan`s Chimei Group has announced the firm`s "Brand 133" plan, expecting to take the lead in market share in Taiwan, achieve revenue growth of over 30% and overseas sales exceeding 30% as well as generate revenue of NT$6 billion (US$200 million) this year. LED-backlit would increase to 50% in the CMI’s panel shipments in 1Q11

In 4Q10, the LED-backlit shipment which were applied LCD TVs, monitors and notebooks, had a 40% share in the Chimei Innolux's(CMI) total panel shipments, and it’s expected to reach 50% in 1Q11. In the CMI’s LED-backlit applications, TV panel shipments had a 15%, and monitor panels accounted for 30%, with 100% of notebook panels in 4Q10.

LED-backlit LCD monitors sold 125,000 units in 3Q10 in Taiwan

In Taiwan market, it’s said that the sales of LED-backlit LCD monitor in 3Q10 reached 125,000 units, with a 25% share in the overall local LCD monitor market. While In 1Q10, the sales were only 26,000 units and up to 30,000 units in 2Q10, with less than 10% share .

Chimei expanded china market with cooperating Foxconn

The LCD monitor market in China in 2010 was expected to reach 30 million, and LED-backlit models were expected to account for 25% of the market at the end of 2010 due to strong demand. Chimei was reported that it emphasized to develop the China market and aimed for revenues from overseas markets to reach 30% of total revenues in 2011, together with Foxconn Electronics’ channel retailers.

A leader of Chimei noted, the total LCD TVs’ sales would be 1.18 million units in Taiwan in 2010, and it’s expected to over 1.25 million in 2011, with LED TVs having a 30-35% share. Chimei was expected to ship 175,000 LCD TVs in the Taiwan market in 2010, up 16% from 2009 .In 2011, the company planed to ship 200,000 units, with LED backlight models accounting for over 40% of total shipments and aiming to account for 20% share in the Taiwan market.
