The first day's sessions will cover the LED upstream material, equipment, and epitaxy sectors. World’s leading equipment makers, such as KLA-Tencor, ULVAC, and MOCVD equipment makers Veeco and Aixtron, are invited to explain how LED equipment can contribute to LED quality enhancement and cost reduction.

Due to low demand in the large-size backlight market in 1H11, LEDinside expects many manufacturers to turn their main focus to lighting products in 2H11. The phrase “replacing traditional lighting” takes on new meaning as the industry develops in a new direction. As for LED replacement of traditional lighting, North America, Europe, and China are currently showing the most rapid progress.

Backlight module and lighting are two main applications of LED. However, in light of the weak demand in large-size backlight market in 1H11, the revenues of LED manufacturers plummet 20% compared to last year.
