The estimation of global market value of high-brightness LED in 2011 has been downgrade to total USD 9 billion from the 10.6 billion previously expected, with a mere annual increase of 8%. Contributing factors include: backlight market’s weak demand, drastic plummeting LED’s average selling price, which resulted in a oversupply in the LED market.
