The eagerly awaited 6th Edition of the LED Expo Thailand is all set to explore new boundaries with more than 300 exhibitors, prepping their latest to display on an expanse of over 20,000 sqm of exhibit area. A footfall comprising 15,000 international trade visitors not only from the ASEAN region as well as from across the world is expected to throng the Challenger 1 Hall of the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre during 10-12 May ’18. The Expo witnesses participation from both exhibitors and visitors in a large number.

The building works for these two exciting project have commenced and are due to be completed in early 2016. Already the UK’s largest independent lighting test laboratory, the LIA Laboratories’ new facility will house ‘state-of-the-art’ testing equipment that ordinarily would be out of reach of many of the Lighting SME’s, creating a UK wide national lighting-testing asset.

Fujitsu Laboratories announced the development of a technology that can embed ID data in light cast by LEDs or other light sources onto objects, and also recover this ID data from objects that have been lit in this way.

The phase-out of traditional incandescent bulbs in the U.S. and elsewhere, as well as a growing interest in energy efficiency, has given LED lighting a sales boost. However, that trend could be short-lived as key materials known as rare earth elements become more expensive. Scientists have now designed new materials for making household LED bulbs without using these ingredients. They report their development in ACS’Journal of the American Chemical Society.

Larson Electronics has announced the release of a 100-foot string light system featuring LED lighting technology and high durability construction. The WAL-SL-10-LED Work Area Lighting LED String Light is fitted with 10 LED lamps, each producing more light than a 100 watt incandescent bulb, and provides workers with a cool running and versatile lighting system for illuminating large work areas.
