After six years, visitors can return to the National Center for Traditional Arts (NCTA) and wander around there at night this summer. NCTA therefore launched a special summer project called “66 nights in NCTA – ‘Along the River During the Qingming Festival’ under the starry night” (Editor’s note: “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” is a famous Chinese painting that depicts bustling streets in Bianjing, now Kaifeng, along an ancient canal in the Song Dynasty) to feast visitors. In order to enrich the beauty of nights in NCTA, the owner worked with Delta Electronic who provided its LED lighting integration program which adopts hardwire and software controlling systems and power supply design, so it is possible to protect our environment by 63% lower energy consuming while enhance the gorgeous scene.
The most noteworthy characteristic of NCTA is the unique cultural and natural scenes accompanied by rich ecosystem. Delta has built two highlights, “night lighting-sculpture” and “3D puppet drama,” for the “66 nights in NCTA” event. The company used special designed LED lamps such as riverside liner luminaires, star luminaires on the grass and bridge pier fixtures to create the elegant night scenes. On the basis of the lighting design, the Dong-Shan River, which flows across NCTA, became so romantic that visitors may feel as if they were touring inside the painting “Along the River During the Qingming Festival.”
Except for the beautiful scenes, the LED lamps themselves were eco-friendly as well. Bruce Cheng from Delta emphasized that the company had replaced more than 500 energy-consuming lamps by LED lamps so the park can save energy consumption up to 63% , which also meant that NCTA only needed to pay less than NT $60 (approximately US $2) per day for the lighting-sculpture design. Moreover, the electric bill per day for all LED lighting fixtures was as low as NT $110 (approximately US $ 3.7), which indicates that the park was able to provide visitors stunning night sights while being green.
Additionally, Delta use a video projecting integration program that adopt the latest DP Titan Super Quad 20,000 lumen projector to built a 3D cinema “Brahma Festival” so they can play the traditional puppet drama in a new method. This had all visitors enjoy the Pili puppet drama through a 440 inches screen.
