Lemnis Lighting announces a joint venture with Tsinghua Tongfang

Lemnis Lighting has entered a joint venture agreement with Beijing-based Tsinghua Tongfang Co Ltd, to drive manufacturing and development of LED products for both the indoor and outdoor markets.

Tsinghua also will expand its competitive strength in LED industry through the agreement with Lemnis.

The new joint venture named Beijing Tongfang Lemnis Lighting Technology Co ltd will focus its sales and marketing efforts on China and the global market utilizing the respective distribution channels of both shareholders.

Mr Remko Gaastra, CEO of Lemnis Lighting™ said that it is their sincere intent to share technology and knowledge with Tsinghua Tongfang and jointly expand the head-start Lemnis has in LED lighting.

He also believed that their co-operation will lead to the development of new applications and generate economies of scale through which the adoption of LED in China and elsewhere will accelerate.

Lu Zhicheng, Director of Tongfang Holiding said they hope to become involved in everything from LED chip production to lighting end-applications, and this joint venture with Lemnis Lighting is an essential part of this strategy as it gives Tongfang access to the leading light source and end-application technology.
