SWITCH60, powered by LQD Cooling System, takes home top award at HD Boutique event in Miami
SWITCH Lighting™, the first company to launch a family of liquid-cooled LED light bulbs with true incandescent-quality light, today announced that its 60 watt-equivalent bulb, the SWITCH60, was selected as a “Best of Boutique” winner at HD Boutique. HD Boutique is an event sponsored by Hospitality Design magazine that brings together the most influential design professionals and hospitality owners in the industry. SWITCH will be exhibiting at booth #1213 from September 11-12th.
The SWITCH60 was one of five products chosen from the submissions received across all industries at the show, including textiles, furniture, and lighting. SWITCH’s award will be on display at their booth and the SWITCH60 will also be featured in the October issue of Hospitality Design, as well as on the magazine’s website.
SWITCH bulbs have been in beta-testing at several high-end hotels in the US since last November, including the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The feedback so far has been very positive.
“The hospitality industry is one of our largest market opportunities, so it’s very rewarding to have the SWITCH60 named as one of the best products at this event by industry experts,” said Gary Rosenfield, Executive Vice President for Marketing and National Accounts. “We know our hospitality customers recognize that the award winners are the best in their class for performance, quality, and aesthetic appeal.”
The SWITCH60 provides the same warm, familiar glow of an incandescent bulb, while using 80% less energy and lasting up to 25,000 hours. Like all of SWITCH’s products, the bulb uses SWITCH’s LQD Cooling System™ - the most innovative and effective thermal management system on the market today. The LQD Cooling System is a blend of the company’s overall electronic design and proprietary technologies: a coolant made of liquid silicone, and a patented, highly efficient and reliable electronic driver. SWITCH is up to 40% more effective at diffusing heat and cooling LEDs than air-cooled bulbs.
SWITCH is the only company to offer a full family of LED bulbs, including 40, 60, 75, and 100 watt-equivalents. All bulbs fit into standard light sockets and can be used in the same manner as any incandescent or compact fluorescent light bulb—in any orientation, any fixture, and any location. They are expected to retail between $40 - $60 dollars. SWITCH has been named a Consumer Electronics Show 2012 Innovations Honoree and one of Time Magazine’s 50 Best Inventions of 2011.
