The global Breast Cancer Awareness Month takes place every October. To help raise awareness on this health issue that affects approximately 1.4 million women around the world, Philips has decorated 100 buildings and landmarks around the globe in pink lights. This is also the first time that Philips Taipei office is joining the showy display and lighting up four Taiwanese buildings in pink.

People in Taiwan will be seeing for the first time four major buildings basking under feminine pink lights. Starting from Oct. 10, 2013, Farglory Financial Center in Xinyi district, Taipei, Taifer prilling tower in Hsinchu, Farglory Life Taichung Zhonggang Office Building, and China Steel headquarters in Kaohsiung will all be lit up in pink. Breast cancer is the leading cancer among female patients in the country, according to Philips Taiwan press release.

Among other global landmarks that received a “pink lighting spa” from Philips this month, Canton Tower in Guangdong, China was adorned with 6,000 LED lighting equipment, and showed off its new look on Oct. 9. Philips global pink lighting relay kicked off on Oct. 1 in Mexico and Brazil, before moving to Russia, Japan, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Poland, Serbia, U.S. and 10 other cities by Oct. 8. On Oct. 10, Taiwan and Hong Kong buildings were lit up in pink. The breast awareness campaign will run till Oct. 31, 2013. For more info on the campaign please see video here.
