Everlight 4Q Revenue Dips Slightly, 1Q14 to Surpass 1Q13

Although 4Q is traditionally a low season for the LED industry, Taiwanese LED package manufacturer Everlight has benefitted from rising lighting demand. Europe and U.S. Christmas holiday sales opportunities will increase lighting industry performance, said Everlight chairman Yeh Yin-fu. Revenue for 4Q might only decrease within 10 percent. Fewer working days due to Chinese Lunar New Year next month are expected to affect 1Q14 performance which is estimated to decrease even more than 4Q13. However, overall performance will be stronger than 1Q13.

Sales opportunities for the Europe and U.S. Christmas holiday are not currently apparent, says chairman Yeh in an interview while attending the National Taipei University of Education’s 118 school anniversary ceremony. Sales will only have a limited amount of injection into Everlight Electronics’ revenue, but will be beneficial to the company’s lighting business. Although, 4Q is a slack season in the industry, the company is not anticipating a large decrease in 4Q, said chairman Yeh. Decrease in revenue for 4Q is estimated to only drop at single digit levels.

With 2013 coming to a close, 1Q14 operation performance  is hoped to be good. Although, 1Q14 is a traditional slack season for the industry and is estimated to be lower than 4Q13 in revenue, there will still be an annual performance says chairman Yeh. Revenue for 1Q14 is expected to be better than 1Q13. Everlight plans to put all its efforts into the lighting market next year.
