Kingsun Invited to Design Standards for Chinese Urban Street Lighting

Recently, China’s Urban Street Lighting Design Standard drafting group launched its first conference in Beijing. At the conference, 21 members included representatives from Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai’s Urban Lighting Management Centers, Shenzhen Lighting Environment Management Center, Philips, GE Lighting, Kingsun and others.

Through revised urban street lighting design standard, the meeting aims to adapt various complex road conditions, actual engineering design requirement and related standards, so that new lighting products like LED lights can be used more regularly and scientifically, thus saving energy efficiently on the basis of improved lighting quality.

Issued by the national ministry, the standard is used for regulating requirements of urban street lighting. Since publication, the guidance plays a great role in China’s urban street lighting design, which is also a significant catalyst to urbanization and street lighting construction.

Kingsun was involved in two chapters of the drafted standard, one is light source, lamp and its attachments selection, and the other is energy-saving standards plus implementation. The standard is in preparation and will be delivered to Building Department in September, 2014.
