A Malaysian manufacturer Elsoft Research has started producing 40 LED test equipment that is valued to reach an estimated RM 20 million (US $) by the first half of 2016, reported Malaysian media StarBiz.

The group’s CEO CE Tan remarked the LED test equipment will be shipped to clients in the automotive, smart device and general lighting sectors.

Compared to the same period in 2015, this represents a double-digit percentage growth in volume, said Tan.

“The key sectors driving the growth are the automotive and smart device industries,” he said. For smart device applications, the group is developing LED test equipment to be applied in checking lighting performance of new smart devices that are scheduled for release in late 2016.

“For the automotive sector, we are making LED testers for the daytime running lights, new LED headlamps and rear-end signature lightings for branded cars. Our automotive customers are mainly based in Malaysia, China and Taiwan,” he said. Additionally, the group has secured local medical equipment orders from Malaysian clients supplying to hospitals. “We are making the embedded electronic control system for medical equipment,” he said.

The company’s revenue performance for the fiscal year that ended in Dec. 31, 2015 reached new heights of RM 49.7 million, and posted a net profit of RM 26 million compared to RM 45 million and RM 20 million respectively in 2014. The group projects the automotive sector will be a main revenue driver for the company.
