Village in New York State Secures US $250K Funding for LED Streetlight Upgrade

New York State Senate Jack Martins stated earlier last week that he has secured US $250,000 state funding for Village of Great Neck LED streetlight conversion, reported the Island Now.

A total of 636 LED streetlights will be installed.According to the village, the conversion will save the village an estimated US $500,000 over a 10- year period.

Village of Great Neck Mayor Pedram Bral pointed out that the village can take advantages of lighting upgrade as it’s been more than 25 years since the Great Neck’s last streetlight project.

With the energy efficiency and low maintenance requirement LED streetlights, the village will be able to slash the energy bill for taxpayers.

The project is set to begin in late 2016 and is expected to be completed within four months.
