During CEDIA Expo 2023, Planar showcased the company’s latest LED and LCD display technologies for commercial and luxury environments. This included a lineup of products designed to elevate visual experiences, simplify installation and maintenance, and adapt to application requirements as diverse as corporate lobbies and boardrooms, remote home offices, media rooms, poolside cinema, and rooftop terraces.
Featuring design adaptability and the slimmest profiles, Planar’s professional-grade display technologies are designed to integrate with architectural elements and complement interior decor.
Planar’s Luminate Ultra Series
At CEDIA Expo, Planar presented its Luminate Ultra Series line of outdoor LED video wall displays, which are designed to bring to outdoor environments the same level of image detail historically reserved for indoor spaces. In addition to up to 3,500-nit brightness and support for viewing as close as seven feet, the series features models in 1.2, 1.5, and 1.9 millimeter pixel pitches, including the finest outdoor pixel pitch available. Planar Luminate Ultra Series uses MicroLED technology to enhance images with increased black levels and delivers 160-degree visibility.
The displays also feature an IP65 Ingress Protection Rating, which incorporates protective treatments designed to withstand weather conditions, dust, and water. Plus, with a protective coating filling the gaps between LEDs, customers benefit from added reassurance and ruggedness as well as increased visual contrast for deeper black levels in uses ranging from poolside cinema to rooftop terraces and retail signage.
CEDIA 2023 attendees also experienced Planar’s newest high resolution LED displays presenting vibrant visual experiences. This included the recently announced Planar DirectLightPro Series LED platform. Leveraging key advantages of Planar’s highest-selling LED platforms, the ground-up designed LED video wall delivers high brightness and a wide color gamut for outstanding image performance as well as a range of popular pixel pitches down to sub-1 millimeter. This includes models in 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, and 1.8 millimeter pixel pitches and 1,000-nit brightness in constant operation, providing vibrant colors and greater image detail even in higher ambient light environments.
Planar DirectLight Pro Series also supports rich media playback, including High Dynamic Range (HDR). In addition to enabling faster deployment, the 27- and 36-inch cabinets allow for precision and simpler, more easily supported video walls. With support for a range of video controllers, Planar DirectLight Pro Series can be further tailored to different application needs.
Also on display at CEDIA 2023, was the premium Planar DirectLightUltra Series line of fine pitch MicroLED video wall displays. Available in 0.6, 0.7, 0.9, and 1.2 millimeter pixel pitches and designed for close viewing, the displays are ready for HDR content, maximizing the image quality of each pixel for brighter whites, darker blacks, and more true-to-life colors in a variety of uses, such as corporate boardrooms and theater-like environments.
Planar DirectLight Pro Series and Planar DirectLight Ultra Series customers also benefit from the Planar EverCare Lifetime Limited Warranty. This program was created to provide complete confidence in LED video wall purchases and reduce lifetime cost-of-ownership, covering the entire product from controller to sub-pixel and every component in between.
The new all-in-one Planar UltraRes L Series LED display was also exhibited in the Planar booth, demonstrating a solution that measures 136 inches, is available in Full HD resolution, and features an ultra slim bezel and 20-point IR touch technology. With wall mount and rolling floor stand options for permanent installation and mobility, the Planar UltraRes L Series is well suited for a wide range of environments. Customers also benefit from multiple inputs and simultaneous viewing of up to four content sources, in addition to quick assembly and power from a single 110V cable.
