From 2000 to 2024, a brief moment in history, yet a significant period for China's economy, evolving from a follower to a leader in the global economy. Similarly, Refond Optoelectronics, founded in 2000, has achieved remarkable growth over the past 24 years, becoming a leader in China's LED packaging industry.

The 24 years of innovation and growth are hard to encapsulate in a few words. Refond's newly developed multifunctional brand showroom, spanning 2,000 square meters, is divided into four main areas: an image foyer, a brand image area, an R&D and manufacturing area, and a product experience area. It not only tells Refond's development story but also allows visitors to experience the forefront of LED technology and its innovative potential through five core scenarios.

The showroom reflects Refond's 24-year journey, marked by significant milestones in LED technology innovation. In 2002, Refond established an SMD LED packaging line, becoming one of the pioneers in this field in China. After nine years of innovation, the company went public on the ChiNext market in 2011, further expanding its LED packaging business.

In 2016, with the rise of the Mini LED concept, Refond quickly invested in R&D and built an automated production line by 2018. In 2022, the Hubei Refond Mini LED Industrial Park was completed and put into production. Since 2023, the company has continued to develop its five main product lines in lighting, displays, automotive, electrical, and touch displays, establishing a strong industry presence.

To deepen its innovation strategy, Refond has also undertaken a global brand refresh, positioning itself with a global perspective and forming deep collaborations with leading enterprises in various fields worldwide. Refond has developed an ultra-thin 0OD solution, covering large TVs, medium-sized notebooks/displays, small camera screens/drone control screens/tablet panels/vehicle screens/VR, and has achieved mass production and delivery. The company remains committed to customer satisfaction by offering high-cost performance products.

Refond introduced the Mini LED Direct Display - Yusha series for small electronic products like mobile phones and earphones, providing breathing lights and ambient light solutions. The Nothing Phone, using this series, became the first brand to achieve large-scale commercial use of Mini LEDs in the mobile phone industry, setting a precedent in consumer electronics.

Chairman Gong Weibin highlighted the strategic importance of the automotive sector, particularly new energy vehicles. Refond has spent over a decade developing a comprehensive automotive-grade LED product line, offering complete automotive lighting and display solutions. With the development of Mini LED technology, Refond has introduced new products such as dynamic logos, interactive taillights, ADB headlights, and vehicle displays to meet the diversified needs of automotive LEDs.

A key area for Refond's layout, the company established a specialized team and intelligent factory in 2022, achieving mass production of related products. Refond's innovative soft-to-hard & hard-to-hard bonding solutions enhance brightness and color performance, providing the best visual experience for users in smart retail, education, and office IoT fields.

Scientific Innovation Fuels Refond's Growth

Refond has always prioritized research and innovation, investing significantly in R&D. From 2020 to 2023, the company's R&D expenditures were 91.67 million yuan, 110.37 million yuan, 109.66 million yuan, and 108.36 million yuan, respectively, accounting for 7.44%, 7.50%, 8.21%, and 7.87% of annual sales.

The company also values building its R&D team, growing from 192 researchers in 2020 to 288 in 2023, increasing their proportion from 7.75% to 12.06%.


Refond's three major laboratories in Shenzhen, Yiwu, and Gedian received CNAS recognition in 2015 and aim to be top LED R&D platforms, recognized as national laboratories and multiple provincial-level R&D centers.
