EvoLucia, Inc., the LED lighting division of Sarasota-based Sunovia Energy Technologies (OTC Bulletin Board: SUNV), announced today that they secured a General Services Administration (GSA) contract award. Sunovia expects that the GSA award will help accelerate government sales, as government customers can now buy the company’s proprietary LED lighting products directly, without having to obtain a competitive bid.
GSA was established in 1949 to help manage and support the basic functioning of federal agencies, providing products and services to the U.S. government. The agency oversees $66 billion in procurement annually and contributes to the management of about $500 billion in U.S. Federal property.
The cutting-edge EvoLucia® LED lighting products will be listed on the GSA Advantage!® online shopping and ordering system, which is the portal for supplies and services to all federal agencies. Government sustainability managers, energy coordinators, facilities staff and procurement managers can make purchases through this system confidently, knowing that all legal obligations have been taken care of by GSA.
Sunovia introduced its proprietary LED cobra head light fixtures during the 3rd quarter of 2009, and quickly secured a contract to install more than 1,000 of the high performance lights at the Camp Lejeune Marine base in North Carolina. Since that time, the Company agreed to provide numerous samples of its high performance LED light fixtures to select organizations and potential customers for testing purposes. The recent PG&E approval and now the GSA certification indicate that the fixtures and the company have passed the tests.
Sunovia marketing and public relations manager, Kristen Watson, said, “The GSA schedule is a vetting process whereby the government examines the integrity of our products and our commercial sales policies. As an authorized government vendor with a GSA schedule award, we have strengthened our marketing efforts to the governmental and military channels and reached a key milestone in our government sales strategy.”
