Green Lighting Shanghai 2010 to Debut Shanghai

Currently, the Chinese novel light source and energy lighting industry is experiencing explosive growth. Because of large national projects, semiconductor lighting manufacturers now have access to greater opportunities than ever before. Green Lighting Shanghai 2010, to be held at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center from April 20 to April 22, will feature the giants of the semiconductor lighting industry, including Philips, OSRAM, ASTRI, AIXTRON, Cree, Shanghai Sansi, Rainbow Optoelectronics Material and Everfine.

The three-day event will encompass the full industry chain, from upstream epitaxial material growth, chip preparation, midstream devices and module packaging to downstream lighting and display integration application.  This will solidify its position as an incomparable trade platform for the potential-rich novel light source and energy lighting industry.

Josephine Lee, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions East China, believes that the Chinese novel light source and energy lighting industry can benefit greatly from the tremendous opportunities available.  For this reason, an all-inclusive, specialized platform for the industry is a must.  A platform that not only allows potential customers, partners and government officials to engage each other on issues surrounding innovative technologies, but provides timely updates on prevailing industry trends. To capitalize on this opportunity, Reed Exhibitions, a leading exhibitions organizer, and the China Solid State Lighting Alliance are building just such a platform for buyers from China and abroad.

Green Lighting Shanghai 2010 will display numerous privately owned, innovative technologies and products. Philips LED lighting solutions - like the Master LED – can replace halide, incandescent and energy-saving lamps. LEDs are preferred to traditional neon lamps in decorative applications because of their smaller carbon footprints, higher brightness, longer life and lower maintenance charge.  They also have low pressure capabilities.  Philips will also showcase its LED-based AmbiScene Lighting System and a series of uniquely designed, colorful LED lamps for home use.

The street and tunnel lamps from Shanghai Sansi Engineering are based on its wholly owned, unique light distribution design software as well as heat sink technologies.   This new innovation has overcome the problems presented by traditional structures with its heat sink and secondary light distribution design.  These not only reduce lamp volume and weight, they also improve the heat sink effect, extend the LED’s life and enhance luminous efficiency.

Giesecke & Devrient GmbH will display a new patent LED lamp that uses 95% to 98% of the light energy of LED chips to not only stimulate photon bunching, but also facilitate energy saving and low thermal loss through the conversion of YAG fluorescent power. This in turn extends the radiation scope of LED chips in the photon pipe, resulting in higher brightness.

How can the Chinese novel light source and energy lighting industry continue to develop at a steady pace in today’s low carbon economy? What innovative designs and applications will be featured at Expo Shanghai 2010? What is the latest progress from the municipal construction of pilot cities for the “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Lamps” and “Lighting Africa” projects?  All these issues will be explored at Green Lighting Shanghai.

At the same time as the exhibition, a forum featuring two conferences and five summits will focus on topical issues affecting the industry. Nearly 100 key figures from industry-related organizations, colleges and research units have been invited to take part. Dozens of them will deliver speeches on novelty lighting.  Senior executives from world famous companies in the trade will also be on hand to participate in discussions on topics like novel energy lighting applications; the revolution of novel light sources and traffic lighting; special lighting designs; smart control system solutions and the development of novel light source displays.  They’ll also share insights into the latest research, together with their perspectives on the development of future mainstream technologies and applications.  Key figures from industry leaders like Philips and OSRAM will also deliver speeches on overcoming the challenges of developing the industry.

As one of the most important events in the Chinese semiconductor lighting industry, Green Lighting Shanghai 2010 has gained significant support from numerous renowned organizations, institutions and corporations, both from China and abroad.  These include the Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Coordination Leading Group Office, the China Renewable Energy Society, the World Bank Group / International Finance Corporation, the World Meteorological Organization, the Novel Energy Lighting Special Interest Committee of the China Illuminating Engineering Society, the Semiconductor Lighting Special Interest Committee of the China Lighting Industry Association, TOSIA, the Shanghai Optoelectronics Trade Association and the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute.

Green Lighting Shanghai (April 20 - 22, 2010) is already attracting widespread attention and is undoubtedly a widely anticipated event.
