Smallest Product in its Class Now Also the Only One Approved for Obstruction Lighting in Explosive Environments
Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), an innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, announced that its smallest-in-class LED L-864/L-865 flashing dual (white/red) strobe has been certified for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations, making it ideal for application in the oil and gas, petro-chemical and other potentially explosive environments.
Featuring the lowest-profile, lightest-weight flash head on the market—at just under 8 inches in total height and only 26 pounds—the Class I, Div 2 Vigilant Series L-864/L-865 strobe offers reduced wind load and 95 percent greater operating efficiency compared to traditional purged Xenon units for lighting chimney stacks and cooling towers in hazardous locations.
Delivering 20,000 candela (cd) during daylight operation, each unit consumes just 90 watts; for nighttime operation, white or red strings deliver 2,000 cd each at 35 watts and 25 watts respectively, to aptly meet FAA and FCC regulations at a lower total cost of operation, with superb energy efficiency.
The power supply/control box for the Class I, Div 2 L-864/L-865 strobe can safely be located up to 550 feet from the light engine, at the base of the chimney stack, for example. The unit is compatible with third party GPS synchronization devices and supports multiple unit synchronization from a single controller.
Backed by Dialight’s exclusive 5-year Peace of Mind warranty—the longest in the industry—the Class I Div 2 Dual L-864/L-865 LED strobe consistently delivers up to 10 years of continuous operational life to guard against unexpected outages, the associated penalties and exorbitant maintenance costs.
