It’s reported that The U.S. Federal Reserve Building in Washington, D.C., is one of the first offices to use Cree’s LR24, a new 24-inch square LED luminaire. So far, about 1,000 LR24 have been installed in pilot accounts.
At present, you’d see in many “institutional” settings, such as offices, schools, hospitals or retail environments consider to install LED lighting. Cree said the LR24 can deliver high lighting levels at 0.5 watts to 0.75 watts per square foot. Besides, Cree also touts the LR24’s color rendering capabilities, which score 92 on the color rendering index (CRI) compared with 70 to 89 for linear fluorescent light bulbs. The technology is designed to last for up to 50,000 hours.
