Diversified technology company 3M has announced its first-time participation at 100% Design, the biggest design event of the year, taking place 18-21 September 2013, Earls Court, London. Designed by New Yorker Todd Bracher, the 3M stand (#E170), located in the Eco Design and Build section of the exhibition, will showcase the very latest product innovations for the architectural and design marketplace, including environmentally sustainable, decorative wall and furniture coverings, colour-shifting glass finishes as well as brand new ultra-sophisticated lighting products, launched recently by 3M in the US.
With more than 500 patterns available in the range, 3M DI-NOC is ideal for any furniture, design or architectural application |
Following a great reception at the famous NeoCon event in Chicago (10-12 June 2013), 3M is now bringing the company’s strong tradition of innovation to the UK design world. The recently extended DI-NOC Architectural Finishes Range from 3M will be on display. With more than 500 patterns available in the range, DI-NOC is ideal for any furniture, design or architectural application. A whole new look can be created quickly and cost-effectively, but not at the expense of aesthetics. The products provide an uncanny resemblance to natural materials such as wood grain and stone, as well as other types of surfaces such as brushed metals and carbon fibre effects.
New for 2013 is the DI-NOC Architectural Finishes E-Series from 3M. Made without PVC and requiring no harsh chemicals to maintain them, the films offer an environmentally sustainable solution along with an authentic, natural look.
Fasara Glass Finishes will also be on the stand, demonstrating how they can transform interior glass doors or the inside surfaces of windows, capturing the look of etched, treated or texturised glass to an astonishing degree, at a fraction of the price. The products enable customised privacy while preserving natural light and creating an open feel even in confined spaces.
3M will be inspiring a new spectrum of creativity by showing how the shimmering, colour-shifting effect of coloured glass can be achieved at a fraction of the cost using Dichroic Glass Finishes. A stunning addition to any space, the finishes are available in cool (Chill) or warm (Blaze) colours.
In addition, and in collaboration with Todd Bracher, 3M will be providing 100% Design visitors with a special preview of an innovative, state-of-the-art architectural lighting system known as Lightfalls. A combination of Todd’s creative vision and 3M’s technical prowess, Lightfalls distributes light from a single LED source over a large space to create a ‘virtual LED’. A key enabler is a more than 98 per cent reflective proprietary 3M film that efficiently steers the light of a single LED from one module to another. The final effect creates the image of multiple LED bulbs when in reality there is only one.
