Georgia Power announced it has rolled out a LED lighting upgrade for approximately 12,500 high pressure sodium lights in City of Columbus in Ohio, U.S, reported WTVM.
The upgrades are part of Georgia Power’s statewide initiative to upgrade 400,000 streetlights with LEDs in the future.
The power company estimates the city could halve its energy consumption for streetlight after completing the upgrade.
Georgia Power Lighting service will manage the lighting project, which specializes in commercial, industrial and residential outdoor lighting.
