Thailand’s LED lighting market demands have increased since the government heavily promoted energy efficient lighting, while LED luminaire prices have dropped, according to a report by Economic Daily News.
Compared to the same period last year, the Thai lighting market was up 12 percent to US $ 800 million in 2014. In the next five years, the market is expected to grow at a rate of CAGR 30 percent to US $900 million to US $1 billion. The country’s lighting market mainly consists of indoor lighting and industrial lighting.
The country imports about 80 percent of lighting products, according to Thailand’s Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). The government has been greatly promoting energy efficient products, and the country’s great market potential and purchase power is expected to bring business opportunities to Chinese enterprises.
The first international Thailand LED Expo will take place from Aug. 19-21, 2015 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. The main organizers of the show, PEA and Messe Frankfurt recently held a press conference in Shanghai, and invited Chinese manufacturers to attend the show. The organizers displayed the latest LED technologies from China to ASEAN member states.
Up to 250 manufacturers are expected to attend the lighting show next year, and will be displaying luminaires, highly efficient lighting equipment, LED material, controllers, replacement lamps, related LED equipment. Other renewable energy solutions include solar buildings, smart architectural lighting will also be showcased. The show is expected to attract more than 5,000 participants from industry, factory, government organizations, commercial buildings, hotels, apartments, university, and religious sites.
