Ohneka Farms, a New York-based design studio focus on organic foods, launched a fund-raising campaign on Indiegogo to raise US $75,000 on an experimental hydroponics vitrine, the ROOT.
The gardening system features an automated smart LED lighting and watering system that takes care of plants. The LED light baths the plants from above, and it can auto-adjust its brightness to match surrounding light conditions. A sensor will monitor the water level and tell you when to refill.

ROOT also comes with an app. The smart and easy to use app can remind users when to add nutrients and allows remote and timed control mainly on the lighting system. You can sync ROOT with your life – just program the timer, and go to sleep with it.

Everything comes with an app in 2014. |
