ilumisys, Inc., developer and producer of next-generation solid-state lighting technology, announced today that it has granted a license for its patents on LED fluorescent tube replacements to Clean Light Green Light, based in Mt. Clemens, Mich. and Evergreen LED, based in Westmoreland, N.H.
The licensing agreement provides for royalty payments in exchange for rights to manufacture and sell products covered by Altair’s patent portfolio.
“Being a licensee complements our commitment to offering our customers high quality LED lighting technology while opening up a true partnership with ilumisys relative to its intellectual property,” says David McKinney, CEO of Clean Light Green Light. “The LED industry is growing at a rapid pace, and we are fortunate to be at the center of this dynamic industry in Michigan.”
Clean Light Green Light was recently the LED lighting supplier to Marvel Food and Deli, the first commercial new construction project to be outfitted exclusively with LEDs in the U.S. Located in Auburn, Wash., Marvel Food and Deli’s 16,000 square foot building utilized LED lighting for both interior and exterior applications.
“The quality of lighting delivered compared to the energy use is very impressive, and the performance of the Clean Light Green Light products has been beyond my expectations,” said Javad Maadanian, president of Collaborative Constructions Consulting who served as the energy consultant for the project. “Marvel Food and Deli utilizes LEDs for nearly 100 percent of its interior and exterior lighting and should be considered as a model for similar applications.”
Since the price and performance of LED fluorescent tube replacement products vary, the ilumisys licensing program allows companies to offer a range of products to the market. By providing licensees access to its expanding patent portfolio, ilumisys believes that both LED product development and installation pace will continue to accelerate.
“As our patent licensee program continues to grow, more companies will be able to offer quality, dependable and efficient LED lighting products,” said Dave Simon, president of ilumisys. “The program allows ilumisys to focus on manufacturing and expansion efforts that will enable us to meet the increasing demand for LED technology.”
