The world sweeping COVID-19 pandemic have impacted our lives in every aspect. Several movies and films have been delayed due to the pandemic since people can hardly gather together or travel to different places. In a tough situation like this, LED display technology provides an alternative solution for the industry.
A report of CNBC covered that Disney is filming a new series, “The Mandalorian,” by using large size LED screens as background looking just like a real location. With advanced display performance delivered by LED screen, the crew did not need to actually travel to particular locations for shooting.

According to CNBC, the team used LED video walls of “20-foot high, 75-foot wide and 270-degree,” which is able to present 3D image moving in time with the movement of the camera. By replacing the green screens with LED screens, the production team can save much time and cost on post-production.
Installation of LED screens in studios is becoming a trend for the film making industry and implement of the technology will be more and more common. Pinewood Atlanta Studios which provided filming ground for several Marvel movies announced that it is planning to add LED stage to its facility.
As LED display technology improves with Mini LED and Micro LED creating enhanced performance of LED screens, more application opportunities are created in different fields. The adoption of LED screens in the film making industry could be a promising market for the LED display industry.
