Innovative Lusio LED high bay fixtures deliver superior quality of light and substantial energy savings
Lusio Solid-State Lighting announced the installation of Lusio SSL fixtures at the new Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Criminalistics Laboratory (JCCL) located in Olathe, KS.
Completed this spring, the new 62,500 square foot facility is expected to achieve LEED Platinum certification by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the highest rating a building can achieve under the council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. LEED certification is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance sustainable buildings.
“A crime lab requires very specialized lighting,” said Allen Hamm, Assistant Director of the JCCL. “The Lusio LED fixtures deliver high footcandles and wide distributions to effectively cover large work spaces. Lusio also delivers substantial energy savings and reduced maintenance costs, which played an integral role in the design of the new facility.”
The new state-of-the-art, two-story building features nine laboratories and is approximately four times the size of the crime lab that operated in Mission, KS since 1974.
