Recently, Lite-On Technology (2301) reported that it has completed the world's first Optoelectronic Semiconductor Product Carbon Footprint Declaration and Environmental Product Declaration Type III, which a comprehensive Environmental Product Declaration and can be used as a base for improving the environmental impact of Lite-On's optoelectronics (LED) products.
The Optoelectronics (LED) Product Carbon Footprint and Environmental Product Declarations follows ISO 14025 standards, ISO 14040 series standards, Optoelectronic Semiconductor Product Category Rules and PAS 2050 standards. It focuses on the product's environmental impact and energy/resources consumption through optoelectronic semiconductor life cycle studies, including the raw material production/extraction methods of suppliers, material manufacturing, chip and main component manufacturing and optoelectronic semiconductor packaging/testing. The contents of this Environmental Product Declaration include optoelectronics (LED) products carbon footprint, raw material consumption, energy consumption, water consumption, pollutant production, waste production and air pollution.
It can be applied by customers to meet consumer demand for environmental labels.
