Peter Laier Leaves Osram

In today's extraordinary meeting the supervisory board of OSRAM Licht AG has, in agreement with Dr. Peter Laier (45), approved the termination of his appointment as a member of the managing board of OSRAM Licht AG effective 30 June 2014. Dr. Laier will leave the managing board and his other positions within the OSRAM group due to differing views within the managing board regarding the management and direction of the business. The succession process will be initiated immediately. "On behalf of the supervisory board I thank Dr. Laier for his successful and dedicated work in our company. We regret the separation and wish him success for his professional future“, said Peter Bauer, chairman of the supervisory board.

Until a successor has been determined, Mr. Wolfgang Dehen (60) as chairman of the managing board and Dr. Klaus Patzak (49) as chief financial officer will assume the tasks of Dr. Laier.

Peter Laier joined the Osram group on 1 January 2013. Since then Laier has been responsible for the General Lighting business unit. He has held the position of chief technology officer of Osram and as such has been responsible for research & development, supply chain management as well as quality and technology.
