Selectronic and Hongli Zhihui Collaborate with Epistar for Automotive Product Development

Selectronic, a UK-based specialist, has partnered with Chinese LED packager Hongli Zhuihui with a US$ 75 million collaboration agreement. The two companies will work with Taiwanese company Epistar to boost LED automotive product development.

Selectronic is a distributor of LEDs in Europe for Hongli. Through the partnership with Epistar, Hongli will buy Epistar’s patented automotive LED chips for the production of automotive LED lighting and the development of automotive LED products. The strategic agreement between the companies will run until October 2021.

Kevin Dry, Managing Director of Selectronic, said, "Partnering with the Taiwanese company Epistar forms a strategic alliance aimed at harnessing resources from both sides to develop automotive lighting products. This coalition will also protect Hongli products from potential patent infringements and provides Epistar chips of substantial quality, enabling us to bring down prices and speed up expansion of the two companies into this sector."
