TÜV SÜD America Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of its new 30,000 square foot Energy Efficiency Center of Excellence located just north of Atlanta, Ga. The new NVLAP* ISO/IEC17025-accredited laboratory allows TÜV SÜD to test and certify products to global energy efficiency programs. Services include ENERGY STAR®, Lighting Facts Label, California Title 24/20, IEC 60529/IPXX, IES files, NRTL Certification, CE Marking,ENEC Mark, Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive, RoHS, and CONUEE.
In addition to energy efficiency and product safety for lighting fixtures and lamps, the laboratory will provide services for consumer electronics, information technology equipment, televisions, power supplies, audio/video, battery chargers,displays, imaging equipment, and set top boxes. The new facility features several type C goniophotometers for testing lamps and luminaries and a type A goniophotometer for testing automotive and airport lighting as well as retroreflective material. A group of very spacious environmentally controlled life testing rooms were also designed into the building for ENERGY STAR testing. “TÜV SÜD has shown a strong commitment to energy efficiency with a massive new laboratory in the United States dedicated to testing products for ENERGY STAR and related energy efficiency programs,” stated Jason Chesley, Sales Manager for Energy Efficiency at the new Atlanta laboratory. “Our team brings the technical competence and service that our customers need from their testing and certification partner,” concluded Mr. Chesley.
