Oasa R1: Robot mower comes with LiDAR and an unusual mowing method intended to ensure perfectly trimmed lawns

News Source:

The Oasa R1 is a new and unusual smart robot lawnmower with advanced sensor technology, and is currently still available at a heavily discounted price.

The Oasa R1 is an unusual robotic lawnmower.

The Oasa R1, a smart robotic lawnmower, is currently being financed as part of a crowdfunding campaign. The model looks like a typical robotic mower at first glance, but it is not. Instead of using rotating blades, the Oasa R1 is a cylinder mower. Such devices closely resemble manual lawn mowers and are designed to be particularly gentle on the lawn. According to the manufacturer, the mower sharpens its blades automatically, which means that the mowing quality should remain identical over a long period of time.

Aside from this, the machine is actually a fairly typical robot mower of modern design. No boundary wire is required. LiDAR is supported for navigation, allowing obstacles to be effectively avoided. As usual, the mowing height can be adjusted between 20 and 101 millimetres. The Oasa R1 is said to be able to mow up to 500 m² per hour, with 1,500 m² specified as a useful working area - which means that large lawns can be easily maintained.

The 22.5-kilogram robotic lawnmower is said to emit a maximum of 60 dB and comes with a 165 Wh battery. As usual, control is managed via an app: WiFi and LoRa are supported. A temperature and humidity sensor are available, which prevents the grass from being damaged by mowing in very dry conditions.

The model is currently on offer on Kickstarter at a price of $1,199. Delivery is scheduled for December. Potential supporters should bear in mind that crowdfunding campaigns come with significant financial risks.

The manufacturer utilizes LiDAR for navigation and a different mowing method.
