Taiwanese LED manufacturer Lextar’s recently announced revenue last month was slightly down, due to the slack season in 4Q14.

The company’s revenue was down 2.4% to NT$ 1.09 billion (US$ 34.95 million), compared to October or 6.6% YoY. Total consolidated revenue for January to November 2014, however, grew slightly 6% YoY to NT$ 13.39 billion.

Currently, the company’s LED backlight application demand fell as the market enters a transition phase and prepares for the launch of new mobile device models, but the introduction of new products in next year are expected to boost shipment figures. As for LED lighting, the shipment for lighting components decreased as European clients underwent inventory adjustments. The company’s lighting end products sold well with its ET8 ballast-compatible LED tube being supplied to major lighting brands, and is expected to continue till the end of the year.
