NEC Lighting to Introduce 60W-equivalent LED Bulbs

After Toshiba Lighting and Sharp Corp, NEC Lighting Ltd will also introduce two new LED light bulbs Sept 24, 2009 in Japan. The new 6W LED bulbs will provide illuminance equivalent to that of a 60W incandescent light bulb.

The power supply circuit is improved in the new bulbs, saving about 90% energy comparing with the company's existing incandescent light bulb "LW100V54W."   And the rated life is 40,000 hours, 40 times longer than that of the LW100V54W.

The ELL6N-100V emits white light, while the ELL6L-100V emits light of color similar to that of an incandescent light bulb. Their total luminous fluxes are 350lm and 270lm, respectively. And the general color rendering indices are 70 and 80, respectively.

The suggested retail prices of the new products are not decided yet, while the company expects the prices to be around ¥4,000.
