iPhone 12 to Feature LiDAR Sensor Mounted Camera, as Revealed by Leaker

As the launch of iPhone 12 is approaching, more rumors about the new Apple product were unveiled. Las week, a new Apple leak said that LiDAR sensor is “confirmed” for iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Apple predictor Jon Prosser uploaded a video and share a few alleged screenshot of iPhone 12. One of the picture demonstrate the option of “Enable LiDAR CA,” indicating that LiDAR will be featured for the new iPhone.

This will not be the first time Apple adopting the sensor component in its product. The iPad Pro Apple debuted earlier this year is equipped with a LiDAR scanner for world facing 3D sensing solution. Since then, rumor has it that Apple will add the feature to its new iPhone as well.

LiDAR is also believed to be a key technology for Apple to build up its AR glasses and develop a portfolio of AR applications. Another Apple leak from Jon Prosser reported in May this year said that Apple might launch AR smart glasses featuring LiDAR sensor in 2021.
