US Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall Commercial LED Lamps

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, due to a potential fire hazard, around 42,000 LED lamps which are made by Maine-based Eco-Story are being recalled voluntarily.

When used with a Class II transformer, the lamp can overheat and cause a fire risk. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but there have been two reports of overheating.

These lights were sold only to commercial clients between December 2007 and August 2010. The affected 12-volt lamps have the UL number E316865. Those who purchased the lamp should contact the manufacturer for a free replacement.
