Philips Supports Germany's 'Green Hospital Program'

Currently, Royal Philips Electronics is supporting the 'Green Hospital Program' at Asklepios Clinics and its partner companies, according to German hospital operator Asklepios Kliniken GmbH.

The 'Green Hospital Program' is based on three core areas: Responsibility for the environment, preventative medicine, ecological use of energy in new constructions and the renovation of clinics.

It’s said that lighting costs have comprised a quarter of all energy consumption expenses in a hospital, but many hospitals are still fitted with outdated lighting systems.

With the participation of Philips, which offers significant energy savings potential, with the implementation of innovative lighting solutions, including intelligent control systems, Asklepios expects its LED lighting solutions, could result in a radical change in lighting systems and totally new lighting concepts that use energy more intelligently and sustainably.
