City of Tulsa Converts to LED Technology

The city of Tulsa is installing new energy saving LED traffic signals to be a greener community.

Reportedly, earlier this year, city workers have replaced more than a thousand traffic lights in the downtown area. The city's been gradually converting all signals to LED's since 2004. Throughout the years they've seen 70 to 90 percent in energy savings.

In addition, the city of Broken Arrow is also in the process of converting to LED technology. Officials say it's saving the city $3,700 dollars a month. There are plans to put energy efficient lighting in the municipal buildings as well as the school district.
