RAPEX Issues Warning on LED Lighting Chain Made in China for Electric Shock

On Aug. 2, the Rapid Alert System for Non-food Consumer Products issued a warning on LED lighting chain once again. It is understood that this warned product is LED lighting chain from China-based "B10Cod'Events", the notifying country of this case is France.

This LED lighting chain is for interior use, and its type/number of model is LED 5EIN193, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Portal Category is 78000000 - Electrical Supplies. The product poses a risk of electric shock because the insulation between the active parts and the accessible parts of the LED is insufficient. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standard EN 60598.

Currently, importers / distributors have taken voluntary measures, such as, withdrawal of the product from the market, recall of the product from end users, and destruction of the product. Therefore, it is recommended that the manufacturers and exporters should attach great importance.
